SUMMARY:Regaining Consumer Trust in a Digital Age
DESCRIPTION:Presenter:    Dr John Roche\, Chief Science Adviser\, Ministry for Primary Industries\nJohn was appointed Chief Scientist in June 2018 to provide strategic science advice across MPI. He leads the organisation’s Science Forum\, which works to promote MPI’s scientific expertise. John also Chairs the independent Mycoplasma bovis Strategic Science Advisory Group\, set up to help accelerate eradication of this devastating cattle disease from New Zealand\, and the Kauri Dieback SSAG which focuses on the science needed to protect Aotearoa’s Kauri. \nJohn was previously DairyNZ’s Principal Scientist for Animal Science and an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln University. He’s also held science appointments with the National Centre for Dairy Production Research in Ireland\, the Department of Primary Industries in Australia\, and the University of Tasmania. He is also Managing Director of Down to Earth Advice Ltd. \nWidely published and a regular contributor to international science and farming conferences\, John has an Honours degree in Agricultural Science\, a Masters in Farm Systems and Pasture Management\, and a PhD in Animal Nutrition. \nAll welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Waikato Agriculture & Horticulture Industry Forum (held under the auspices of NZIAHS) next meeting \nPresenter : Charlotte Rutherford\nGeneral Manager of Sustainable Dairying at Fonterra Co-operative Group. \nCharlotte has developed and led the implementation of many Fonterra programmes including the Sustainable Dairying Water Accord and Tiaki Sustainable Dairying.\nShe has also represented Fonterra on numerous national bodies guiding the development of environmental policy in New Zealand have included the The Land and Water Forum and National Board of Use of Overseer in Policy. She has also led Fonterra’s input to national and regional policy development including the Tukituki Plan Change and the Healthy Rivers Plan for Change. \n

SUMMARY:Healthy Rivers - Policy and implementation progress update
DESCRIPTION:Presenter:    Alan Campbell\, Waikato Regional Council \nAlan graduated with a BSC in Earth Sciences from the University of Waikato. He worked on the Clutha Development Environmental impact assessment and the National Land Resource Inventory in the Bay of Plenty and Central Plateau before joining the Hauraki Catchment Board as a Soil Conservator. He has continued in a variety of roles with the Waikato Regional Council since its formation and is currently Leader of the Land Management Advisory Services Team at Waikato Regional Council. The team’s purpose is to work with the agriculture industry to improve environmental performance\, and to help farmers to meet or exceed their Healthy Rivers obligations.
