The Awards Committee consists of 5 people:
President
Vice-President
Immediate Past President
Two Fellows
The aims of NZIAHS include providing support towards and recognizing achievement in agricultural and horticultural research. The winners of each award are announced at the annual NZIAHS Forum.
Awards are available to members of NZIAHS. Three of the awards provide members with assistance towards the cost of undertaking research. Awards are also offered for students at Massey University and Lincoln University.
There are also awards for communication in agriculture and horticulture and for service to the Institute at the local section level.
Applications and nominations are accepted each year and must made using the online form below or a PDF of the nomination form can be down loaded and emailed to the Secretariat.
The committee reserves the right to forgo giving awards in any year as they see fit.
Review and selection of awardees is greatly assisted by the provision of appropriate supporting material and substantive evidence of contributions and achievements.
This information must be supplied by applicants or nominators and be pertinent to the purpose of the award and selection criteria. Nominations and applications which are inadequate will be considered ‘as is’. The Awards Committee will not seek additional information.
Supporting material will be award specific, but could include a CV, full list of publications, evidence of importance and impact of work, statements from industry, referees’ reports, relevant media articles, and other awards received (with an explanation of their importance). Applicants or nominators must not make a direct approach to committee members.
